Join us for a half-day interactive seminar that explores the intersection of Indigenous rights and corporate operations. 

This session serves as an introduction to the foundational rights of Indigenous peoples as outlined in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). It explores the legal and ethical responsibilities of organizations in upholding these rights and provides actionable insights on creating culturally safe and inclusive workplaces. Through expert presentations and panel discussions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to align their organizational practices with Indigenous rights.

Objectives

Provide an overview of UNDRIP and its relevance to workplace settings. Discuss organizational responsibilities in respecting and promoting Indigenous rights. Highlight best practices for fostering a culturally safe environment for Indigenous employees.

Jamie Wilson
Vice President of Indigenous Strategy
Research, and Business Development
RRC Polytech. 

Jamie Wilson, a member of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation, is the Vice President of Indigenous Strategy, Research, and Business Development at RRC Polytech. With extensive experience as Manitoba's Treaty Commissioner, a Deputy Minister, and an educator, Jamie is dedicated to fostering partnerships with Indigenous communities and advancing economic reconciliation. A veteran of both the U.S. and Canadian Armed Forces, Jamie also holds degrees in Arts, Education, and Administration, along with an ICD.D designation. Recognized with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Service, he is a strong advocate for land-based education, environmentalism, and Indigenous inclusion in business and education.
